I have always loved traditional art and drawing as that is how I started with art and what was my true beginning. I have experimented with graphite, water soluble graphite, charcoal, markers, colored pencils, ink pens, calligraphy, pastels, and more. I hope that the samples of some of my art under each section and my story can give inspiration and show somewhat into what I create and who I am.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but only around the age of 13 did I finally start taking art more seriously and studying, learning, and putting all of my effort into getting better at drawing. Once I finally dedicated my time and effort to art and really trying, I started seeing results which excited me even more, leading me to the many other mediums as I still practice still life, anatomy, and more.
I have always loved and been fascinated by paintings as it was one medium I always wanted to conquer. So far, I have experimented with acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints but my favorite medium would be acrylic painting. I have always felt very inspired by paintings as I felt the captured the wholeness and realness of colors and life so well, and I wanted to be able to do the same.
I started painting with finger paints when I was little with my mom, but as I got older, I stopped painting or drawing as much, but as drawing held on, I completely forgot about painting for years. Then, during 2020 during the pandemic, my mom bought me some canvases, and from there my love for painting flourished. Painting helped me understand colors, lighting, form, and shapes better and also has been a relaxing past time for me for a while now.
Digital art was always an art form I struggled with because of how different it is then all traditional forms, but that just made me want to practice it and get better at it more. Digital art for me is now one of my favorites as I had to work so hard to get where I am with it now, but I finally am able to draw my characters the way I like, and I found my digital style.
I started drawing digitally on my phone with my finger, and I did that for years before finally getting a stylus and then finally getting a tablet. I can say the thing that improved my digital art the most was finally getting a tablet meant for drawing and getting procreate. From there, just as I had done before, I practiced and practiced no matter how difficult it was for me, and finally I was able to make the kind of art I wanted to digitally.
Fanart was actually one of the big motivators that got me into drawing when I was a little kid as I always loved drawing Pokémon, Warrior Cats, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon characters. These characters were all what originally motivated me to start doing art more and also what in the long run sort of brought me back into art and why I decided to start practicing more.
As I got back into art around 2020, I definitely still did a lot of fanart as it was great practice and fun, but I started drawing my own things more and especially my own characters. However, around March of 2022 I discovered anime and from there my art improved immensely as I got back into fanart as practicing drawing anime characters actually greatly helped me figure out my own style and helped me learn to draw in-between classical cartoon and realistic styles.
I hope that you all enjoyed the samples of my art and story that I shared, and I cannot wait to make more art and share more! Also, if you got this far, thank you for taking the time to read everything as my art journey has been long and I have had many ups and downs. Sometimes seeing the finished works of artist and writers can be daunting, but we all have had to put in many hours of work, determination, and studying to get to where we are today. I want others to know that it is possible to achieve your dreams and I hope to help in the processes by sharing my story, what I have learned, and the things that have helped me!
As I got more into anime and fanart, it also started practicing making mini comics and I have always dabbled in animations, and I even have made some for my characters for Plaster-saints, so feel free to check them out!
